Udawalawe National Park is one of the most famous and greatest National Safaris in Sri Lanka. It is a well protected and well maintained area that is home to a considerable flora and fauna. It is also an important habitat for Sri Lankan elephants aquatic birds. The park is 165 kilometers [103mi] away from Colombo. The total extent of the Udawalawe National Park is 30,821 hectares [119 sq mi] including the water reservoir, which covers 3405 hectares at full capacity. This national park mainly lies on the boundary of the Uva and Sabaragamuwa provinces.
Udawalawe National Park provides a rich experience to tourists who are keen in experiencing animals in their natural habitats. The Udawalawe Jeep Safaris are considered as one of the best wildlife activities that can be done in Sri Lanka. A group of six people can be comfortably in one jeep, with maximum protection. The time and duration can be reserved as 3-4 hours, half day or full day according to your wish.
